Dickens-A Christmas Carol-JOHN LEECH ILLUS
A Christmas Carol.
In Prose.
Being
A Ghost Story of Christmas.
by
Charles Dickens
With The Illustrations by John Leech.
Published
1946
by
The King Penguin Books
London
The First Edition of Dickens’s A Christmas Carol appeared in 1843. This reissue is not a facsimile in the sense that it copies the setting of the original text pages, but an attempt has been made to retain the style of 1843 by the choice of the most suitable typeface and by accurately reproducing John Leech’s original illustrations. The binding also is a close interpretation of that of the first edition.
